INGREDIENTS

Building a fence isn’t rocket science, and if you’re planning to do it yourself, we’re happy to help. Below is the basic material recipe for one typical 8-ft Board-on-Board section: overlapping cedar pickets, rails, one steel post, concrete, hardware, and fasteners. Because the boards overlap, you’ll need more pickets than with a Side-by-Side fence. And since each section includes just one post, remember to add one extra post assembly to finish the end of your run — one more post, plus concrete, grip ties, screws, and a cap.
