Below is the basic material recipe for one typical 8-ft Horizontal Cedar section: cedar boards installed horizontally, rails or supports, one steel post, concrete, hardware, and fasteners. Unlike traditional vertical fencing, horizontal boards need proper support and spacing to stay straight and maintain clean, even lines. And since each section includes just one post, remember to add one extra post assembly to finish the end of your run one more post, plus concrete, grip ties, screws, and a cap.
